Seriously though as smart and edgy your quote is, I don’t agree. It’s not convincing enough against laws passed to fight terrorists or protect the children. Privacy is directly necessary for one’s mental health and the ability to act true to oneself. It is a fundamental right to keep us human feel and be human.

Exploitation of the lack of privacy should only come as a secondary reason. As an analogy, it’s morally acceptable to freely experiment on all animals but human for good intentions such as medical purposes. If individuals’ well being (to be distinguished from benefits) is involuntarily sacrificed for a so-called greater good, the good is not for the greater population.
